Did you all eagerly check my blog on December 1 for my answer to Emily's tag? I seem to keep finding ways to leave my audience disappointed. I apologize. I'm busy or forgetful or lazy or all of the above. But do you know who balances me out? My husband, Derek. (Begin awww-ing now)
What can I say about Derek, you all love him. Or dislike him, depending on the last time he pulled a prank. He's funny, light-hearted, fun-loving, compassionate, caring, loyal, dedicated and a whiz with repairs. My case in point: see that cake in the picture, he decorated it. Why? Because mid-decoration I was on the floor of the kitchen sobbing. He sprung into action and Liz enjoyed a wonderful shower without a hitch. (Read more on the shower here.)
He's also a great dad, and man enough to sit in Van's mini IKEA chair while watching Elmo. He cuts down Christmas Trees (Sorghum Mill Christmas Tree Farm rocks) and makes awesome Halloween costumes. And he joined Twitter, which makes John tease him, but keeps his wife happy.
Derek is a good man, and I'm blessed to be his wife. Now if I could get him to finish all his projects...

When he calmly survived your lost keys/wallet incident, I knew he was the guy for you.
